First Lap Race Car Rental (FLRR) was started in 2021 once the Guptill family, longtime racers at Oxford Plains Speedway, started competing the Cruiser division. FLRR is a revolutionary way to get your dreams on track! FLRR will be building, maintaining, and providing high quality entry level race cars for the general public to be able to race. For 2022 the cars will be built for the Cruisers, a division of the exciting Oxford Acceleration Series, at Oxford Plains Speedway.
FLRR is a race team based in Gray, Maine that prepares and fields entries in various grassroots forms of motorsports. It offers opportunities for funded drivers to compete without having to worry about building a racecar or dealing with the logistics of getting it to and on the track.
Because of their buying power and multiple racecars being built and maintained in their shop, FLRR can rent or lease you a competitive car for less than it costs to field your own racecar – with a lot less work on your part. Safety is the top priority at Turn 4 and each car is built to the highest standards. FLRR is operated by Bob Guptill, the founder of the North East Mini Stock Tour and a longtime driver and crew member in NASCAR Modifieds, PASS Super Late Models and the ARCA Menards Series. Jerry Morello, who has won races and championships in the NASCAR Busch North Series and Tour type Modifieds as a car owner, serves as a consultant. The Cruiser division is made up of American made V6 front wheel drive street cars with a number of safety modifications like roll cages, harnesses, racing wheels, containment seats, etc. But don’t worry about the cost of building, repairing, and maintaining your own vehicle.
